Betty Catroux is a fashion icon who has been a muse to both Yves Saint Laurent and Tom Ford, famed for her long white-blond hair, lanky body, gaunt features, and androgynous appearance.

She is the daughter of Carmen Saint, a Brazilian socialite prominent in Paris, and Elim O’Shaughnessy, an American diplomat. The couple met in the 1940s, when O’Shaughnessy was posted to the American embassy in Rio de Janeiro under ambassador Jefferson Caffery.

Catroux is the wife of noted French interior decorator François Catroux. The couple has two daughters : Maxime book editor; and Daphne married to Count Charles-Antoine Morand.

Catroux and Saint Laurent met, according to her, in a “very, very gay” nightclub in Paris in the 1960s and have been friends ever since. She reportedly inspired Saint Laurent to begin dressing women in clothes inspired by men’s tailoring, including the famous “le smoking” tuxedo.

Verifying (state 21 november)

November 21, 2006

Ms Wingsurf does really no know anymore whether I’m boasting, inventing everything, going through a deep depression or anything unspecified else. To clear up the situation: first group of blogs started up end of September this year under ‘ideabstracta’ with Spanish e-mail adress ideabstracta@telefonica.net shows 414 viewers, including those of poet Catalina Sojos, whose page is under my responsability (presentation and administration), the texts though being all hers. The texts of the other blogs are all mine (no, I didn’t take anything from a desastruous translation attempt). Second blog group was opened midth october under sonjakasten1 with swiss e-mail adress sonjakasten@gmx.ch, and shows 759 viewers. Both together 1173. Taking away Catalina Sojos’ obvious success, remain for my pages as being all mine 1054 viewers, plus the three recently arrivals on soniakasten, opened November 19th under israeli e-mail adress soniakasten@walla.com = TOTAL: 1057

Bgcentroestudios and LaiMing are test publicity pages for a school and an internet café in Cuenca, Ecuador. The second shows extremely high visits: not surprising! it is desktop and internet opening page in the … same internet café. Would you not conclude that it’ll be extraordinary publicity for Bgcentroestudios if she gave 20 USD a year to Laiming in order to have her page as … desktop? Possibilities that sales increase very quickly I esteem at 200%, and as you can see, Ms Wingsurf, without having had a look yesterday at the different stats I was quite right in appreciation …

Now: having seen the obvious success of friend surfer (my idea!) don’t you owe me a job as … idea producer? I still have two or three …

Perpendicular cut and general market

November 20, 2006

Or, how to make of subjective criteria an objective market share parameter and a general theory of economics

But first, one or two remarks on stats 19&20. Not only have we really reached top summits today with 74 viewers on http://sonjakasten1.wordpress.com (and the day is not over yet), thanks to my most intelligent marketing strategy (whose secret of course, I don’t reveal, no, Ms Wingsurf, this time you pay for my secrets), and a chinese translation whose extraordinary beauty enchanted my eyes for a long time (unluckily it can’t be reproduced exactly without upgrading the system, but you can follow the link and learn by the way how you write ‘myself’ in chinese: an arrow up and beside a little hut that symbolizes a person, which means that chinese have really good self consciousness: a myself is always an arrow … up!)

Remarkable success is also our appearance (three times), in what I think the German Lykos (- means: woolf in greek), researches in aol.uk do also fall on our page along with kotsiras researches, and an extraordinary reference in what seems an italian page, whose reference I can’t but reproduce again (you made me publicity, let us be fair …) because there is some kind of similarity in the whole approach of things. But also because the fact of thus almost extravagantly cutting a text of mine, made of it an almost surrealistic inspiration, whose particular beauty I couldn’t but deeply appreciate.

http://www.paneraiblog.comSummits are obtained today with 39 viewers on stats. Have though a careful look at the stats today on sonjakasten1 and sonjakasten, the second shows similarity with a ‘rayo’, blight, seen in Greece in 2002 and called ’signe de la paix avec france’ (I can show you the original) as it was equal to symbol used as frequency to separate the photon from the frequency. The first tends towards this direction.Further comments, if time is left, tonight ecuadorian hour! Have a sleep Sask, you wouldn’t mind your satelite being blown up in the airs as ‘vain, vain is all made by human hands’ but … the disappearance of the frequency thus obtained would have produced a terrible irruption of solar frequencies into our … human field of action with … horrid consequences! Never mind. You’d be there at the right moment. November 8, 2006, 1:00 am | sonjakasten1 | comment

You see that I couldn’t avoid to cut their text the same way, and thus, ‘thanks’ is ‘thanks’ in almost surrealistic language …

All made thus and extraordinary birthday present, I have to admit, that of the happiness of what was to come today, I almost didn’t sleep last night, and couldn’t even thing of further inspirations for http://sonjakastentoo.wordpress.com.

Concerning though more general observations, we may state for the time being:

1. that the fact of making cheap publicity to others does make you very soon very famous. Those who stay ‘in-the-without-payment-no-reference-mood’ do sink into the depth of the pit. It would seem thus, that patting someone else’s shoulder could become the publicity of the future. (No, Inès de la Fressange, if you pay, it will loose its spontaneous, almost aleatory character, but I wouldn’t mind an example of your new parfume, in order to know whether it is adequate for the chinese market … Better don’t do: I may not like it …)

2. The fact is that if you consider the possibility of establishing trends through stats by linking a determined product to a certain market through subjective criteria, you may loose less in exploring markets that are not adequate to your product. Let us say, stats say: people like yellow. So you submit to the stats and make your products all yellow, and damned that you forgot that exactly those people who’d like your products, do show an obvious preference for … purple. Developing this thought you may soon discover the following: you can differentiate the market under the principles of ‘who buys what he likes’ and ‘who buys under influence’. It is perhaps to make hypothesis a little bit too true-seeming, but I think among the first you’ll find people who give more importance to quality than to ‘just appearing’, and among the second, whole lots of those who derive their products from cheap copying, and even expensive imitation. Now you can develop the concept of ‘battle for identity’, as you could establish as principle of augmentation of sales the very fact of gaining back original possible buyers who are just under (bad) influence at that very moment, while the others are trying to seduce originals to their perhaps quite valuable inspirations. If you do that, you create an inner tension in market, and this way, it is possible to eliminate agressive elements of the market (spam attackers, blunt copy makers through spy programs, etc), who are not a lot, but quite disturbing. On the other hand, it allows to form ‘comercial compounds’, which is to say, strong business alliances born from the evidence of the complementarity of products in its possible diversity, which does allow to avoid: too arbitrary fusion of companies, that loose a lot through the impossibility of adapting strategies from the one and the other into one sole, and expensive defense systems against prolifying little internet hooligans. Cost are lower, profit thus much higher.

Wisdom: greatest parts of comercial losses come from the attempts of conquering markets that are incompatible with our products!
